A cable screen is composed of a chassis, a rake, a screen, a counter-scraper and drive groups. The rake that is responsible for cleaning is controlled by cables and it has a double-drive system. A drive mechanism is dedicated to the rake’s ascending and descending movement while the other one is used for the opening and closing movements of the grab to which the rake is attached. The system is controlled by ultrasonic switches completely automatically. The cable screens are mounted to the bottom with an angle of 90 degrees.
The scraping rake that is attached to the cable is withdrawn from the screen at an adjustable distance and descends. Then, it comes closer to the screen at lower point so that it can enter openings between the screen’s bars. It scrapes solid matters that should be removed from water. It continues ascending with these solid matters. The counter-scraper taking place at upper part scrapes these solid matters brought by the rake from the rake towards the discharge chute. Those solid materials leave the screening unit by falling into the waste container or belt conveyor placed under the discharge chute.
