What Is Wastewater?

Water, whose quality is affected as a result of domestic, industrial, agricultural or other uses and whose characteristics have changed partially or wholly, is called as wastewater.

What Is Wastewater Treatment?

It is physical, chemical and biological treatments applied to recover a part or all of physical, chemical and bacteriological features lost by water as a result of various uses after it is converted into wastewater and to cause that it has become water that does not change natural physical, chemical and ecological features of the environment to which it is discharged.

Treatment processes to be employed vary depending on quality of wastewater. Biological treatment plant should be preferred for removal of dissolved organic matters in water by bacteriological activities while chemical treatment plant should be preferred for removal of dissolved or suspended matters, which cannot settle by the gravity, by precipitating them. On the other hand, physical treatment plant should be preferred for removal of solid matters in water that can naturally settle. These processes can be used separately but also, they can be installed one after the other. What Is Potable Water Treatment?

To supply water as potable water from groundwater and surface water that are used as water resource in a continuous and safe way, water must not include any microorganism causing illnesses, its chemical content like chloride, sulfate, zinc, nitrite and lead must not exceed the predefined values and its features like color, turbidity and pH must satisfy the defined values. WASTE GAS DEGASSING AND DEODORIZATION

WHAT IS WASTE GAS?

It is originated from generally H2S, NH3, SO2 and certain volatile organic compounds with bad odor and harmful for environment sourced from wastewater and wastewater treatment plants. Stack gasses from various sources include dangerous pollutants like SO2, SO3, H2S and HCl. These gasses posing great risk to human health are called as waste gases.

WHAT IS WASTE GAS DEGASSING AND DEODORIZATION?

Waste gas degassing and deodorization systems are the systems installed for reducing or entirely removing odors sourced from manufacturing processes in the whole industry and wastewater treatment systems and especially from screen and grid arrestors and sludge thickener/disposal units.

Efe Construction Environment prepares projects and put them into practice for treatment of any kind of polluted gas and dust wastes from boiler rooms, treatment plants or factories and odors from different resources with the optimum method. Gas, dust or odor treatment units are manufactured from stainless steel, polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and glass fiber reinforced polyester (CTP) materials. WHAT ARE WATER SOURCE CLASSES?

Water sources can be classified as “fresh water” and “hard water” depending on their salinity. The parameter usable in the terminology for this purpose is the parameter of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). TDS indicates mineral content of a water resource. Water with a TDS value lower than 1.500 ppm is defined as fresh water while water, whose TDS value is between 1.500 and 6.000 ppm, is classified as hard water. Seawater’s TDS value varies between 25,000 ppm and 40,000 ppm depending on the geographical position. Some wide lakes’ or internal seas’ salinity may also be high. For example, the Caspian Sea’s salinity is in the interval of 10.000 – 12.000 ppm. Hard waters and very saline seawaters must be converted into fresh water before being used by humans.

WHAT ARE THE MINERALS IN WATER?

Human body needs the minerals that exist in water. Water, which is a source of life, includes many minerals that are crucially important. Natural spring waters and natural mineral waters include elements like calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate and iron. If calcium content of water is close to 250 mg, magnesium content to 75 mg and bicarbonate content to 600 mg, we may say that this water is rich in electrolyte. However, we cannot satisfy our body’s mineral need by drinking 2 liter of water during a day. Thus, it is ideal that we should satisfy our body’s mineral need with the food that we eat.

WHAT SHOULD BE AN IDEAL POTABLE WATER’S pH VALUE?

The most important factor defining value of water is its pH level. pH 7 is considered as neutral. Alkalinity until pH 8.5 means that it is healthier for body. In other words, pH level of water from potable water treatment plants may varies between 7.2 and 8.5. This interval may be considered ideal as pH level of potable water.

The innovative, three-step modular water treatment system, Intrimod compact treatment system, is an advanced technology treatment system for river waters, groundwater, process water and gray waters. It is composed of a settlement unit with chemical lamella, an adsorption clarification unit and a filtration unit with mixed bed.
