Water treatment plants, like other products, degrade and eventually lose their functionality in the course of time with respect to technology and metal and equipment life. Water treatment plants, which are not functional anymore due to natural or technological reasons, are studied in situ by Efe Construction Environment and may be maintained and repaired by preparing the required projects and producing the required products. Wastewater treatment plants may require revision works. For example, color parameter was put into effect in 2012.

However, this parameter, color parameter, was not considered during design of the plants that were constructed before the year of 2012. Thus, today, the authorities may fine the companies employing such plants.
One of the problems that might occur in treatment plants is the capacity increase. A treatment plant that was designed years ago based on much less wastewater discharge may become insufficient for the business or the institute years later as its wastewater discharge demand increases. In this case, the treatment plant must be revised and redesigned accordingly.
